When people begin looking for a Celebrant, they sometimes assume
that all Celebrants are alike, because
every ceremony they've ever attended was alike.
[And they have a point - if all Celebrants offered the same services, it would make perfect sense to look for the cheapest!]

The initial interview and wedding planning sessions give you an opportunity to get to know me as your prospective Marriage Celebrant. We’ll sit down and talk together [or bounce emails back and forth] so that you can share with me how you imagine your ceremony. Using your ideas and dreams as our starting point, I will be able to write a ceremony draft and make recommendations of the best ways to make it all happen.
We can also tap into the vast resources available through The Corner Store, to bring all the component parts together. I’m happy to share my experience and use my contacts to find creative solutions for your most challenging problems.

If your date appears to be taken, feel free to double check. I will never book two weddings back to back, but occasionally timing makes it possible to accommodate a second wedding on the same date, so it never hurts to ask! At the very least, I will be able to recommend an alternate Celebrant.

When you call or e-mail to set up your interview with me, your wedding date will be reserved for you and held without obligation until our first interview. At that point, if you decide you’d definitely like to ‘ask me to marry you’, a deposit of $200 will confirm your booking and lock in your chosen date and time
The deposit is nonrefundable, and is deducted from the total fee.

This protects you: The payment of a deposit means that you have contracted my services for the date and time agreed upon. Your wedding date is locked out from anyone else’s consideration. If, for reasons beyond my control, I was unable to perform your ceremony, you have my guarantee that I will provide an appropriate replacement to carry out your ceremony as agreed

And, it protects me: The ceremony I write for you is intellectual property, protected by copyright law. The ideas and phrases we put together for your ceremony cannot be returned, should you decide not to use my services as a Celebrant.
Your deposit provides security for me to confidently do my best work on your behalf.

My fee for Celebrant services, in most cases, is $550 NZD, and covers the following events:

INITIAL MEETING: Our first meeting is a chance for you to chat with me in person, at your home, the Corner Store, or a location of your choice.
At this meeting I will walk you through some of the basic options for your ceremony, and provide you with a range of ideas.
This meeting is an opportunity for me to get to know your personal style, and
to begin laying a foundation for the ceremony YOU have in mind.
This meeting is also a chance for you to be really certain that you want to
“ask me to marry you”.

PLANNING SESSIONS: Following on from our first meeting, this is where
the fun really begins. We will work together on the framework of your ceremony, beginning to pin down details. Following this meeting, you will receive your first ceremony draft, which is when you get to take out your editing pencil to start
fine-tuning the specifics. We will continue to consult [by phone, in person,
and via email], about your ceremony, for as long as it takes to get it PERFECT!
REHEARSAL: Typically an hour long, your rehearsal session will have you and your bridal party completely prepared for your wedding ceremony.
At the rehearsal you will confirm and practice all that is required of you.
From this will come a feeling of confidence and calm, so that you are in the best frame of mind to relax and enjoy one of the truly great moments in your lives.

YOUR WEDDING DAY: The culmination of all our planning, dreaming, and hard work!
Arriving at the venue at least 30 minutes before the first guests are expected, I will oversee and co-ordinate your ceremony in the format we have rehearsed, and do whatever I can to bring to reality the wedding day of your dreams.

You have complete choice over the content of your ceremony.
It can be difficult to get the ideas in your heart out and onto paper, so we will work together to write or adapt the ceremony and vows of your choice.
I am proud to offer a wide range of tools to assist you in building a strong marriage.
I am committed to ongoing training so that I can provide the best options available.
You may have unlimited consultation about all aspects of the ceremony. We can meet in your home, or at my office, and will keep in touch by phone, e-mail and in person. If I am not at home when you call, please leave a message or have me paged.
You can be certain that I will perform your ceremony with style, sincerity & confidence.
I will dress formally or informally as suited to your celebration.
And though you may not even notice it, I will take care of all kinds of small details, quietly and without fuss, doing whatever it takes to create the wedding of your dreams.
