Your wedding invitation or Save the Date card is the first hint your guests will get about the kind of wedding you’re planning, and it’s important to get it right, so you don’t trick them into sweating in a tux at your beach wedding, or squirming in their casual clothes while the other guests are in black tie.
If you have a good printer, it’s pretty easy to make your own invites, but there’s a lot of tradition and protocol that goes into the wording and layout of wedding invitations, and most of it is there for a good reason, [for instance, a local couple were burgled during their wedding, having inadvertently advertised their empty home in their RSVP postcards!] so it’s worth at least getting us to run a professional eye over your draft.
Handwriting place cards, table seating plans, etc is only fun for the first ten or so. It’s a real labor of love, so if you’re not loving it, consider the option of having them printed. It’s definitely worth getting quotes, and often costs significantly less than you’d have guessed!
